Privacy Policy

OTM Mechanic (On The Move Mobile Mechanic) is a one-person mobile auto repair business based in Katy, Texas. This policy explains what information this website and my business collect, why, and who else handles it.

What I collect

• Booking requests. When you fill out the booking form, I receive what you enter: typically your name, phone number, email, vehicle details, where the vehicle is, and a description of the problem.
• Calls, texts, and email. If you contact me directly, I keep your phone number or email address and our messages so I can follow up on your job.
• Site usage. The site counts page views, scroll depth, and clicks on buttons like Call and Book so I can see which pages are useful. These counts are stored on my own server and are not tied to your name.
• Session analytics. The site uses Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors move through pages (clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement) to produce heatmaps and session replays. Clarity masks text you type into form fields.
• Server logs. Like any website, my server records technical details of each request, including IP address, browser type, and the page requested. I use these for security, rate limiting, and troubleshooting.
• AI tools. Some pages use AI to generate content. If a page lets you type a question, the text you submit is sent to an AI provider to produce an answer. Please don't enter personal information into these tools.

How I use it

To schedule and perform repairs, reply to your questions, send estimates and invoices, keep the site secure, and improve the site. I don't sell your personal information, and I don't use it for anything unrelated to my business.

Services that handle data for me

• Cloudflare delivers and protects the website, and processes visitor IP addresses to block attacks.
• Web3Forms delivers booking form submissions to my email.
• Google Workspace hosts my business email.
• Microsoft Clarity provides session analytics. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
• Groq runs the AI features on some pages.

Cookies and browser storage

Microsoft Clarity sets cookies to recognize repeat visits and group page views into a session. Cloudflare may set a cookie used to tell people from bots. The site also saves your light or dark theme choice in your own browser; that stays on your device and is never sent to me. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work.

Photos and job listings

The site shows examples of past work, such as a vehicle, the repair performed, and the general area. I don't publish customer names or contact details. If you'd rather your vehicle not appear, tell me and I'll leave it out or take it down.

How long I keep it

Customer records and messages are kept as long as needed for your job, follow-up questions, and my business and tax records. Server logs and analytics are kept for a limited time and then discarded.

Your choices

You can ask me what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, unless I need to keep it for tax or legal reasons. Email [email protected] or call 346-717-6593.

Children

This site is for vehicle owners and isn't directed to children under 13. I don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the effective date above.
